What is sin?
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
1 John 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
1 John 5:17 "All unrighteousness is sin:
God will forgive us all of our sins but one, and that is to both believe in
God without a doubt, and to understand his word, and yet to speak or work
against God or his word. For this you are in danger of the second death in the
lake of fire. Once you have received the holy spirit into your life you
are no longer part of this world, but only living in it. To return to the
world is to turn your back on God and to choose Satan, you are no longer
deceived by Satan but accept him as your God. The Holy Ghost is of God, and is
God. This saying can be hard to understand, yet Gods ways are not our ways, and
nothing is impossible when it comes to God. The holy Ghost or holy spirit is a
force generated from God to help open your mind up, to guide, and protect, and
strengthen us from the evil around us.
As long as we humble ourselves when we ask for forgiveness, and mean it, God is willing to forgive us, that is the whole point behind Christ's sacrifice as a final sin offering.
But what will not be forgiven? Knowing and willingly rejecting/neglecting the
Holy Spirit which is received after repentance and baptism.
Matthew 12: 31-32 "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
Mark 3:28-29 "I say to you, Every sin of man can be forgiven, and the blasphemies that they may use, but he that will swear against the holy ghost has no forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal death."
Luke 12:8-10 "I say to you, Who ever will acknowledge me before others, him will the son of man also acknowledge before the angels of God. But he that denies me before others will be denied before the angels of God. And who ever does speak against the son of man, it will be forgiven him. But to him that swears against the holy ghost he will not be forgiven."
Hebrews 2:1-4 "Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?"
Hebrews 6:4-6 "It is impossible for any that were once instructed, and have been given the holy ghost, and accepted the holy ghost, and have known the word of God, and the knowledge of the world to come, to fall away, and then to come again to repentance, seeing that they crucify the son of God again, and place him in an open shame again."
Hebrews 10:26 "If we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there can remain no more sacrifices for our sin."
2 Peter 2:20-22 "If after you escape the world through the knowledge of Christ, you return to it, your end is worse than before you did."
1 John 5:16 "There is a sin unto death."
Just as when the Lord gave life to the first animals, giving them an inborn knowledge for survival relevant for their particular species, humans have an inborn sense of right and wrong, that little nagging feeling in the back of your mind. That is the spirit of the Lord trying to talk to us, yet if one ignores that feeling enough times the spirit stops trying to talk to us. At that point we are lost to our own lusts and depravities.
Blaspheming the Lords spirit through our rebellious attitude, thoughts, words, conduct, or
lifestyle, will eventually cause it to depart from you.
When that happens, you will no longer feel any desire to repent of sin, since there’s no
spirit to convict you.
Since we aren’t bothered and don’t even care to repent, all of our sins REMAIN unforgiven. The “ unforgiven sin” is NOT because the Lord is not able to forgive, but because the person no longer cares about the need to be forgiven.
Once you are enlightened with the Lords spirit and with the knowledge of the Lord, you can not easily turn your back on the Lord and then think you can come back to the Lord again, believing he will accept you back.
