What Does The Bible Say About FOODS!

These laws are known as health laws, and are the means for achieving a healthier life. In the beginning man ate fruits and vegetables, but later started eating meat. God made known what meats where unhealthy through the laws of clean and unclean foods long before there was a nation of Israel, even before Noah's time, as seen in genesis 7:2 and 7:8.

It is a well know fact today, that these same unclean foods are known to be unhealthy.

Among the mammals that are acceptable as food are; beef, lamb, goat, deer, antelope, buffalo, ox, and anything else that chews a cud and has split hoofs
And these are what you can eat of that are in the waters: what ever has fins and scales both in the oceans and in the rivers. But any that do not have fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, they are to be an abomination to you. Anything that has no fins or scales in all the waters, are to be an abomination to you.
And among the fowl these are to be an abomination to you, you can not eat them: the eagle, the ossifrage, the osprey, the vulture, the kite, the raven, the owl, the hawk, the cuckoo, the cormorant, the swan, the pelican, the stork, the heron, and the bat. Anything that creeps, or goes upon all four, is to be an abomination to you.
Yet these you can eat from among the flying and creeping creatures that walk on all four, or have legs above their feet to leap on the earth. Of these you may eat: the locusts and their kind, the beetles and their kind, the grasshopper and his kind. But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, are to be an abomination to you.
And what ever walks on paws, among all types of animals, these are unclean for you.
These are among the things that creep upon the earth: the weasel, the mouse, the tortoise, the ferret, the chameleon, the lizard, the snail, and the mole. Every creeping thing is to be an abomination to you, and it cannot be eaten. What ever moves upon its belly, or moves on his belly and has four feet, or has more than four feet you can not eat for they are an abomination to you.
And this is the law of the mammals, and the fowl, and of every living creature that lives in the waters, and ever creature that creeps upon the earth. It is to define between the unclean and the clean, and to define the animals that may be eaten and the animals that are not to be eaten.
All fish that are acceptable as food must have clearly visible fins, and clearly visible removable scales.
The bible does not make a list of all the fowls acceptable as food, but does list what is not acceptable and from this we can determine what is acceptable such as, the chicken, turkey, quail, cornish hens, doves/pigeons, and pheasant. To determine what is acceptable you need to follow this guideline, those that live on a diet of grains and insects are acceptable as food. Those that are known to be acceptable as food among the insects are locusts and beetles only. Any creature that has paws is unclean to eat.

(GEN 1:29)
God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every fruit tree containing seeds to be your food.

 (LEV 3:17)
It will be an everlasting law for your generations in all their dwellings, that you can not eat fat or blood.

 (LEV 7:23-24)
You cannot eat any kind of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat. But the fat of any animal that dies by itself or is killed by other animals, can be used for other uses but you can not eat it.

(LEV 7:26)
Also you cannot eat any type of blood, whether it be from fowl or mammal, in any of your homes.

(LEV ll:All)
These are the mammals which you can eat that are on the earth. What ever has hoofs that are parted, or clovenfooted, and that chews cud from among the mammals you can eat. Likewise these you cannot eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that have divided hoofs: the camel, because he chews a cud but his hoofs are not divided; he is unclean for you. Also the coney, because he chews a cud but does not have divided hoofs so he is unclean for you. And the hare, because he chews a cud, but does not have divided hoofs, so he is unclean for you. Also swine, for they have divided hoofs but do not chew a cud, it is unclean for you.

(DUET 12:15)
Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.

This is one of the most miss interpreted verses on this subject, but there is also an explanation on it if we look to

(DUET 15:22) "Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean (person) and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart "

How clear it becomes now.

(DUET 14:3-21)
You are not to eat any abominable thing. And these are the creatures which you can eat; the ox, the sheep, the goat, the hart, the roebuck, the fallow deer, the wild goat, the antelope, and the wild ox. And every creature that has parted hoofs or separates the cleft into to two, and chews the cud among all creatures, them you can eat. And these are those you cannot eat from among those that chew the cud, or that divide the hoof; the camel, and the hare, and the coney, for they chew the cud, but do not have a divided hoof, they are therefore unclean for you. Also the swine, because it does not have a divided hoof, even though it chews a cud it is unclean for you, you cannot eat of them. These you can eat that are in all the waters; all that have fins and scales you can eat. Anything that does not have fins and scales you cannot eat, it is unclean for you. And you can eat any clean fowl but these you cannot eat: the eagle, the ossifrage, the osprey, the glede, the kite, the vulture, the raven, the owl, the hawk, the cuckoo, the swan, the pelican, the stork, the cormorant, the heron, and the bat. And all creeping things that can fly are unclean, they are not to be eaten. All clean fowls you may eat.

We should take note that these are very clearly laws to be obeyed.

(ISA 66:17)
Of them that bless themselves, or purify themselves in the gardens hiding behind a tree, eating swine's flesh, and the other abominations, such as the mouse, will be consumed together does say the Lord.

As shown with this verse God does condemn those that eat of what is considered an abomination. Isaiah 65:4 tells us that eating swine and other abominable things provokes the Lord to anger.

 (ACTS 15:20 & 29)
Abstain from things strangled, and from blood

For those that would say these laws where only for the people of Israel at that time, take note that animals where regarded as clean or unclean during the time of Noah (Gen 7:2) before Israel existed.
